The master artisans’ present Kashmir silk on silk carpets, bearing 576 to an extreme of 2500 knots per square inch count (the highest in the world). This is an "art"of highest degree. Each master piece takes years to complete by masters of the weaving art. Several thousand carpets are woven annually in Kashmir but only a small fraction of this art is produced from the total production. This “extreme high knots per square inch count” an art in silk on silk rugs is unique to Kashmir only. It is an obsession for a Kashmir weaver to create an art piece of this caliber.
By creating one, it is a degree in art by itself, a weaver's dream!!!
